Professor Demetrios Theophylactou from the newly established COSMOS Open University in Nicosia, Cyprus, visited the Faculty of Organizational Sciences on Monday, April 15, 2024. This visit was organized at the initiative of Prof. Dr. Veljko Milutinović, visiting professor, and Prof. Dr. Dušan Barać, vice-dean for digital development.
Professor Theophylactou was welcomed by and held a meeting with Prof. Dr. Sandra Jednak, vice dean for international cooperation, Prof. Dr. Marko Mihic, vice dean for strategic development and cooperation with companies, and Prof. Dr. Dušan Barać, vice dean for digital development. Professor Theophylactou presented to the faculty management the newly established COSMOS Open University, which will start its first generation of students in September 2024. During the meeting, discussions were held on the possibilities of collaboration in the areas of digitization, distance learning systems, joint projects, and more.
After the meeting, Professor Theophylactou delivered a presentation to the students of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences (FON) about his university. He spoke about international and innovative study programs and the concept of distance learning at the following faculties that are part of the mentioned university: the School of Sciences and Engineering, the School of Social and Health Sciences, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Humanities, and the School of Languages and Communications.
Professor Demetrios Theophylactou served as the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to Serbia from 2020 to 2023. During his tenure, he visited the Faculty on several occasions, connecting it with other higher education institutions from Cyprus.
