From 6 to 10 July 2026, the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Organizational Sciences successfully hosted the international FON Summer School 2026 – Application of Business Analytics in the Green Transition. The five-day programme was dedicated to the application of business analytics in the context of the green transition and sustainable development. The official opening of the Summer School was marked by welcome addresses delivered by Prof. Sandra Jednak, PhD, Vice Dean for International Cooperation and Finance, and Prof. Gordana Savić, PhD, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies, who welcomed the participants and wished them a successful and productive five-day programme. The programme of the Summer School was also presented by Prof. Dragana Makajić Nikolić, PhD, and Prof. Nataša Petrović, PhD, coordinators of this year’s international Summer School.

The Summer School brought together 20 students from eight countries: Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, Croatia, Slovakia, Hungary, Russia, and Serbia. The academic programme was delivered by 18 lecturers, including 16 faculty members and teaching associates from the Faculty of Organizational Sciences and two faculty members from the Faculty of Organization and Informatics, University of Zagreb.

Throughout the five-day programme, participants had the opportunity to acquire and expand their knowledge of sustainability and the green transition, the principles of the circular economy, green innovation, and green entrepreneurship through interactive lectures, workshops, and hands-on activities. Participants also worked on solving and presenting a case study prepared by Nelt. On the third day of the Summer School, they visited Nelt, where they gained first-hand insight into the company’s operations and sustainable business practices.

Working in five international teams, the students jointly analysed the assigned business challenge, applied the knowledge they had acquired, and developed innovative solutions based on the principles of sustainability and business analytics.

On the final day of the programme, all five teams presented their solutions before an expert jury composed of representatives of Nelt and the academic community. The winning team consisted of:
