SEE Connect Workshop of the Academy of Management Held at FON

The SEE Connect Workshop, an international academic event dedicated to advancing management research in Southeast Europe, was held at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Organizational Sciences on 2 and 3 October 2026. The workshop was organized as part of the Community Accelerator Program (CAP) of the Academy of Management (AoM), the world’s largest association of management and business researchers. It brought together early-career researchers, doctoral students, and faculty members working in the fields of strategy, innovation, technology, and organizational behavior. The programme was aligned with the areas covered by three AoM divisions: Strategic Management (STR), Technology and Innovation Management (TIM), and Organizational Behavior (OB).

The workshop was opened by Prof. Dr Marko Mihić, Dean of the Faculty. The event was also attended by Vice Deans Prof. Dr Sandra Jednak, Vice Dean for International Cooperation and Finance, and Prof. Dr Gordana Savić, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies.

On the first day, participants had the opportunity to attend keynote lectures delivered by Prof. Dr Anamarija Konti (IE Business School, Madrid) and Prof. Dr Milan Mirić (Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California). This was followed by the panel discussion “Navigating the Journal Review Process”, featuring editors and editorial board members of leading international journals: Anamarija Konti, Prof. Dr Gilad Chen (Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland), Milan Mirić, and Dr Patty McGrath (Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam). The panel addressed topics including journal selection, the peer-review process, and effective responses to reviewers’ comments and recommendations. The discussion was moderated by Prof. Dr Veljko Jeremić. The first day concluded with a reception for the participants.

On the second day, researchers and doctoral students presented their work in parallel sessions. Each paper received feedback from two experienced researchers serving as discussants, who provided the authors with concrete suggestions for further developing their research. The workshop concluded with a discussion entitled “Why Join the AoM Divisions?”, during which representatives of AoM divisions presented opportunities available to researchers from the region through Academy of Management membership, including doctoral and early-career research consortia, paper development workshops, opportunities to review submissions for the Annual Meeting, and active participation in the work of AoM divisions.

By hosting the SEE Connect Workshop, the Faculty continues to strengthen its activities in management and business research, creating opportunities for new joint research projects and publications with colleagues from leading institutions worldwide.

The Faculty extends its sincere appreciation to the AoM Community Accelerator Program for its support in organizing this important academic event.
