The Faculty of Organizational Sciences of the University of Belgrade is once again hosting one of the world’s most prestigious student competitions in solving business case studies, Belgrade Business International Case Competition (BBICC). The eleventh edition of this competition has brought together teams from 20 top universities across 15 countries to Belgrade, once again making the Serbian capital a meeting place for knowledge, innovative ideas, and young leaders from around the world.
BBICC provides students with an opportunity to apply their knowledge, develop analytical skills, and present their ideas before an expert jury. During the intensive competition week, students analyze complex case studies and propose innovative solutions for partner companies.
This year’s competition features teams from prestigious universities around the world, including CaseKey Academy, Concordia University, Corvinus University of Budapest, Erasmus University Rotterdam, IE University, Maastricht University, McGill University, Monash University, National University of Singapore, NEOMA Business School, Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia named after Patrice Lumumba, Thammasat University, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The University of Melbourne, Universidad Panamericana CDUP, University of Belgrade, University of Florida, University of Manitoba, University of Maribor, and Wilfrid Laurier University.

Ahead of the official opening ceremony, a welcome cocktail reception was organized, bringing together competitors, representatives of the faculty, partner companies, members of the diplomatic corps, and the alumni community. On this occasion, it was highlighted that BBICC is organized by students of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, led by the President of the competition Tijana Ponjarac, as well as Co-Chair Katarina Rajić and Marija Ognjenović.
The Director of BBICC, Miloš Milosavljević, Ph.D., expressed his gratitude to the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, partner companies, members of the Academic Executive Board and the Professional Executive Board, as well as all students involved in the organization of the competition. Special thanks were addressed to Vesna Damnjanović, Ph.D., whose initiative launched this project more than a decade ago and thanks to whom the previous ten editions have been successfully organized.

The President of the BBICC 2026 Academic Board, Barbara Simeunović, Ph.D., also addressed the guests, emphasizing that participants can expect a challenging and dynamic week, but also a unique opportunity to meet new people and cultures. She reminded students not to forget how valuable the experience provided by such an event truly is.
On behalf of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, Sandra Jednak, Ph.D., Vice-Dean for International Cooperation and Finance, also addressed the audience. She emphasized that BBICC is not only an international event bringing together universities from around the world, but also a space for the development of new ideas, encouragement of innovation, and the creation of lasting friendships among students. She thanked the members of the Academic Executive Board and the organizing team for their dedication and highlighted that BBICC is a competition of which the Faculty of Organizational Sciences is extremely proud.
As part of the competition, students will solve case studies provided by leading companies AFI Serbia, Kafeterija, and AbelaPharm.
During the welcome cocktail, alumni members of the project also addressed the guests, along with the CEO of AFI Serbia, Adir El Al, whose company is also the premium sponsor and main partner of the competition. He emphasized that for the company, participation in BBICC represents an opportunity to feel the energy of a new generation of professionals and ideas that will shape the future.
The cocktail was also attended by representatives of diplomatic missions in Serbia, including representatives of the Embassy of Canada, the Embassy of Mexico, the Embassy of the United States of America, and the Consulate of the Kingdom of Thailand, further emphasizing the international significance of the event.
The official opening ceremony of BBICC 2026 was held at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences. The Dean of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, Marko Mihić, Ph.D., also addressed the audience, emphasizing that BBICC is a key project that perfectly aligns with the six pillars of the faculty’s ten-year development strategy. Special emphasis was placed on international cooperation and internal development, as through the organization of such complex events both students and the faculty continuously push the boundaries of their capacities.

During the opening ceremony, the Managing Director of BBICC, Miloš Milosavljević, Ph.D., also addressed the audience, presenting the competition program and emphasizing that BBICC is not only a competition, but also a platform for the exchange of knowledge, the development of new ideas, and the connection of students, the academic community, and the business sector.
Representatives of partner companies, Kafeterija and AbelaPharm, wished the competitors successful work and expressed confidence that students will offer innovative and applicable solutions to the business challenges faced by companies. The ceremonial atmosphere was further enriched by the academic choir “Polifon,” whose members are employees of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences.
The competitors are now facing a week of intensive work, analysis, and presentation of solutions, while the winner of the eleventh edition of BBICC will be announced at the Grand Final on March 14, 2026.
