SuMoS Project Partners Meeting in Belgrade: Advancing Student Mobility through Digitalisation and Sustainability

From 14 to 16 April 2026, the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Organizational Sciences hosted an international partner meeting within the Erasmus+ project SuMoS – Strengthening the ecosystem for sustainable student mobility. On the first day of the visit, the participants were welcomed and introduced to the Faculty by Professor Sandra Jednak, Vice Dean for International Cooperation and project activity leader on behalf of the University of Belgrade. This was followed by Assoc. Professor Katarina Pažur Aničić, project coordinator, who presented the three-day agenda and outlined the planned activities for the meeting.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the five partner institutions involved in the project: University of Zagreb, Faculty of Organization and Informatics (Croatia), ESIEA Graduate School of Engineering (France), University of Žilina, Faculty of Management Science and Informatics (Slovakia), University of Maribor, Faculty of Organizational Sciences (Slovenia), and the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Organizational Sciences (Serbia). Over the course of three days, 20 project team members worked collaboratively on the further development of project activities, with a particular focus on the development of the Digital Institutional Student Mobility Support Platform (ISMSP) within Work Package 5 (WP5), led by Profressor Dušan Barać from the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Belgrade.

One of the central topics of the meeting was the enhancement of the platform’s key functionalities through work on the chatbot database architecture, the refinement and enrichment of its content, and the expansion of the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section. This digital tool is designed to provide students with simpler and more efficient support throughout the entire mobility process, ensuring easy access to relevant information. The platform is planned to be available to students in 2027.

Within the meeting, a dedicated session was also organised on green practices and the assessment of the environmental impact of student mobility within WP3, ), led by Profressor Nataša Petrović from the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Belgrade. Representatives of partner institutions, sustainability experts, as well as development and design team members jointly worked on the development of a benchmarking tool for the environmental footprint of student mobility. This tool will enable students to calculate their individual eco-score and compare it with their peers, with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of sustainable choices and a more responsible approach to mobility.

During the visit, a Project Management Board (PMB) meeting was also held, where the next steps in the project implementation and planned future activities were discussed.

The next partner meeting will take place in September 2026 in Kranj, Slovenia, where, in addition to project activities, a student workshop will be organised, bringing together participants from all five partner institutions with the aim of jointly developing digital solutions for supporting sustainable student mobility.
