In the introductory part of the event, the attendees were welcomed by the Vice-Dean for Digital Development, Prof. Dušan Barać, PhD.
Prof. Barać, PhD, thanked the Embassy of Cyprus and the Ambassador in particular for the initiative and connection with world experts and current topics. On behalf of the Faculty, the Professor expressed special gratitude to the author of the book for the guest appearance and for sharing knowledge and experience.
“FOS continuously monitors trends and needs in the labor market and in accordance with it this presentation aims to influence the academic community and business to adopt best practices, as well as to generate new ideas and models” concluded the Vice-Dean.
After the introductory part, FOS had the honor of welcoming Prof. Veljko Milutinović, PhD, who works as a visiting professor at FOS and at Indiana University, USA. Prof. Milutinović, PhD, emphasized the importance of such events by referring to the multidisciplinarity of FOS, its openness to change, and the continuous innovation of programs and processes. The professor presented the activities of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus related to strengthening cooperation with Serbia, as well as the contribution of the author Rossides in the field of management.
H.E. Ambassador Demetrios Theophylactou greeted the present guests, expressing gratitude to the Faculty for recognizing the importance of cooperation with experts in the field of management. He also emphasized the significance of the topic of management in times of constant change and the motivation of the workforce. In addition, the Ambassador announced that he would provide support for the establishment of long-term cooperation between FOS, the University of Belgrade, and the academic institutions of the Republic of Cyprus.
A lecture by the author of the book, Nicos Rossides, PhD, followed. Within the presentation, he discussed the concepts of changes brought about by the new world in the context of human resources, including global developments, but also regional specificities. Rossides pointed out examples of best practices and provided specific guidelines for managers regarding methodologies, models, and ways of improving employees’ levels of motivation and engagement.
After the presentation, a discussion on the topic of the book was opened and led by Nicos Rossides, PhD, and H.E. Ambassador Demetrios Theophylactou.
The event was closed with a cocktail reception for all guests.
