From February 11 to 13, 2025, the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Organizational Sciences (FON) hosted a delegation from the University of Žilina – Faculty of Management Science and Informatics from Slovakia. The delegation consisted of Professor Peter Marton, Vice Dean for International Cooperation, and Petra Cvičeková, International Cooperation Associate.
During the visit, numerous meetings were held to enhance cooperation between the two institutions. The meetings were attended by representatives of the FON management, including Prof. Dr. Sandra Jednak, Vice Dean for International Cooperation and Finance, Prof. Dr. Dušan Savić, Vice Dean for Undergraduate Studies, and Prof. Dr. Dušan Barać, Vice Dean for corporate affairs and innovations. A joint meeting was also held with FON professors who have long-standing collaborations with the University of Žilina, where the development of cooperation between the two institutions was discussed. Participants included Prof. Dr. Sanja Marinković, Prof. Dr. Mladen Čudanov, Prof. Dr. Ilija Antović, Prof. Dr. Veljko Dmitrović, Prof. Dr. Miloš Milić, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nikola Zornić, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sandro Radovanović, and Tatjana Stojanović. The discussion focused on opportunities for further joint work on projects, staff mobility, as well as potential joint summer schools and networks.
During his visit, Professor Marton delivered a lecture to students on the topic: “Exploring the Potential of the OpenStreetMap Platform – How to Use It for Organizing and Analyzing Future Protests.” He also presented students with opportunities for mobility stays at the University of Žilina.
This visit represents a continuation of the long-standing successful collaboration between FON and the Faculty of Management and Informatics at the University of Žilina. The newly established plans and agreements will contribute to further strengthening academic ties and international mobility.
The cooperation between the University of Žilina – Faculty of Management Science and Informatics and the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Organizational Sciences began in April 2016 with Professor Marton’s first visit to FON. This was followed by a delegation visit from Žilina in May 2017, consisting of Prof. Dr. Emil Kršák, Dean, Prof. Dr. Peter Marton, Vice Dean for Research and International Cooperation, Mr. Michael Varmuš from the Department of Management, and Ms. Emese Tokarčíková from the Department of Micro and Macroeconomics. So far, five outgoing staff mobilities from FON and one student mobility at the University of Žilina have been realized. Professor Marton participated in the International Info Day held at FON in March 2019. To date, two Erasmus+ projects involving both institutions have been implemented: TEACH4EDU4 (2020) and OOP4FUN (2021), while the third project, focused on sustainable mobility between partner institutions, SuMoS (2024), is currently ongoing. Additionally, a new joint CEEPUS network has been initiated under the name: Interdisciplinary Network for ICT, Entrepreneurship & Management.
