On the first day of the visit, the FON management, consisting of Prof. Dr. Milan Martić, Dean, Prof. Dr. Sandra Jednak, Vice-Dean for International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Dušan Barać, Vice-Dean for Digital Development, and Prof. Dr. Boris Delibašić, welcomed the delegation from the University of Maribor, led by Prof. Dr. Polona Šprajc, Vice-Dean for Education, Prof. Dr. Anja Žnidaršič, Vice-Dean for International Cooperation and Quality, and Prof. Dr. Mojca Bernik, Head of HR and Educational Systems Department.
After the welcome speeches and introductory presentations, the meetings continued in parallel sessions. The management of the two faculties discussed the exchange of good organizational practices, joint development of research areas, networking of international activities, and planning of further joint research and international initiatives.
At the same time, a meeting was held between the administrative staff of FOV and FON, which included key personnel from the human resources, student services, and library sectors. The program also included a visit to the Research and Development Center of FON, led by Prof. Dr. Dušan Barać and the Center’s coordinator, colleague Ana Miličević, as well as a presentation of the Center for Environmental Management and Sustainable Development, headed by Prof. Dr. Nataša Petrović and Assistant Prof. Dr. Marko Ćirović.
The day ended with a tour of Belgrade, accompanied by a guide.
On the second day of the visit, following the presentation by the Case Study Club, the delegation from the University of Zagreb – Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) joined the meetings. The delegation included Prof. Dr. Martina Tomčić Furjan, Vice-Dean for Science, Projects and International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Zlatko Erjavec, Vice-Dean for Study Programmes, and Prof. Dr. Zlatko Stapić, Vice-Dean for Education and Students.
At the beginning of the joint meeting, which was attended by the Dean’s Board as well as Prof. Dr. Vesna Damjanović, President of the Faculty Council, Dean and host of the event, Prof. Dr. Milan Martić, warmly welcomed the guests and expressed his great pleasure and gratitude to the partners for accepting the invitation to the joint meeting. Professor Martić emphasized ‘organization’ as the word that unites all three institutions and provides a foundation and many opportunities for collaboration. He highlighted that the “essence of collaboration is the selfless sharing of experience, learning from each other, and advancing together”.
On behalf of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences (FOV) from Kranj, Prof. Dr. Polona Šprajc, Vice-Dean for Education, expressed gratitude for the invitation to the meeting. She proposed the establishment of a „Day of Organizational Sciences“ to be organized annually at one of the three faculties, in Belgrade, Varaždin, or Kranj, for the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices in the fields of management, organization, and informatics.
Prof. Dr. Martina Tomčić Furjan, Vice-Dean for Science, Projects and International Cooperation at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI), highlighted faculty mobility as a foundation for increasing student mobility, which would also enhance international cooperation among institutions, and supported the idea of celebrating the Day of Organizational Sciences.
As the host of this joint meeting, Prof. Dr. Sandra Jednak, Vice-Dean for International Cooperation at FON, emphasized strengthening regional cooperation in the field of organizational sciences as a basis for organizing joint BIPs, scientific conferences, summer schools, student, teaching, and staff exchanges, as well as joint applications and participation in international projects.
On the third day of the visit, a meeting was held between Prof. Dr. Martina Tomčić Furjan from FOI and representatives of the Department of Management and Project Management at FON, Prof. Dr. Dejan Petrović, Head of the Department, and Assistant Prof. Dr. Zorica Mitrović. The meeting discussed involving students from Varaždin in the FON Project Management Forum organized by FON and the exchange of teaching staff and students in the field of project management.
The three-day visit laid the foundation for future joint projects and initiatives between the faculties, enhancing academic cooperation and opening doors for new research projects. This event represented a significant step towards building stronger academic and research networks in the region, strengthening international partnerships, and fostering collaboration between institutions.
