Second Visit of students and professors from the Berlin School of Economics and Law within the COIL Project: Data Analysis in Finance and Marketing

As part of the second generation of the COIL project titled Data Analysis in Finance and Marketing, the Faculty of Organizational Sciences hosted eight students and Professor Frank Brand from the prestigious Berlin School of Economics and Law from May 5 to May 9, 2025. The aim of this visit was to initiate joint work between faculty members and the new generation of students from both institutions in order to enhance knowledge and skills in data analytics in the fields of finance and marketing.

On the first day of the program, the guests were welcomed by Professor Sandra Jednak, Vice Dean for International Cooperation and Finance, who also presented the University of Belgrade and the Faculty of Organizational Sciences. On the second day of the visit, the guests had the opportunity to tour the FON building, where they were greeted by Professor Boris Delibašić, Vice Dean for Science. During the tour, students visited classrooms and met local students, as well as the Research and Development Center, where they learned about ongoing activities and startup projects being implemented there.

Throughout the five-day visit, the students from Berlin, together with their peers from FON, attended workshops held by Professor Frank Brand, Assistant Professor Dejana Milošev, and Assistant Professor Nikola Zornić. The academic program covered topics related to data analysis in finance and marketing, and students had the opportunity to develop soft skills and apply their knowledge in an international environment through interactive workshops and teamwork. During the visit, students were introduced to a case study that they will work on in teams over the next two months.

In addition to the academic component, a rich cultural and social program was organized for the guests from Berlin. On the first day, students were introduced to Belgrade through a city center walking tour and a welcome dinner. In the following days, they visited the National Museum, the Saint Sava Temple, the Nikola Tesla Museum, and the Museum of Yugoslavia. The social program also included student networking activities at authentic Belgrade locations.

As part of this second generation of the COIL project, a return visit of FON students to Berlin is planned for September 2025, when students will present their solutions. The implementation of this project on behalf of FON was led by Associate Professor Milica Maričić, together with Teaching Assistant Nikola Drinjak, with the support of the Dean’s Board and the International Relations Office.
